SATURDAY NIGHT’S MEETING OFF
Nelson Speedway Association officials wish to notify patrons that tonight’s meeting, featuring the Nelson Automotive Solutions Stockcar Teams Brawl, along with the Vertex Super Cup for super saloons and the Ray White Youth Ministock Mania has been CANCELLED, due to the continuing rain making the track unsafe and conditions for competitors, crew, officials and volunteers and for the general public uncomfortable.
Please note: there is no plan to run on Sunday March 12 as the weather forecast is not favourable.
For all competitors, crews, supporters etc, the Clubrooms will be open from 5pm this evening , with prizegiving planned for 7.30 pm. All club liquor licensing rules will apply.
The Teams Brawl honours will remain with the Blacks Fasteners Tasman Thunder while the Vertex Super Cup final round will be discussed by promoters at a later date. If the class decides that last night’s round was the last one possible, Cromwell’s Ray Stewart will have wrested the trophy away in a strong round last night, with Peter Dickson second and Richie Taylor third. Campbell McManaway in 492I won last night’s round overall. There might be some possibility of racing the sixth round at Nelson’s two-day Easter meeting.
The Ray White Richmond Youth Ministock Mania sees Hamish Carter and Brayden Nell tied on 52 points in the senior grade with Baiden Mailman-Byrman third. A runoff will be discussed later. In the first year grade, Jordanlee Paratene from Canterbury takes the sash, ahead of Sophie Rangi and Jonti Austin.
The next meeting at the Milestone Homes Top of the South Speedway will feature The Hits Demolition Derby on March 25.
